The results of the A-League game played at Varsity Stadium in Toronto at 7:30pm between Toronto Lynx and Long Island Rough Riders.
8 min...Lynx Francisco Dos Santos GOAL...Dos Santos after 30 yard run on right gets away hard 18 yard shot that RR goalie Manuel Carou (has played every minute of every game) partially blocked on his slide but momentum on ball spins it back into net. Assist to Leonel Bolsonello who sprung him with short through ball from center line.
13 min...Lynx Milan Kojic GOAL...Kojic gets 8 yard header into top right corner of net after Nikki Vignjevic freekick from 30 yards on left side.
49 min...Lynx Leonel Bolsonello GOAL...Bolsonello blasts 15 yard shot to top left corner after receiving pass on 2 on 1 break starting from rush at center.
88 min...Lynx Francisco Dos Santos GOAL...Kevin Holness races 50 yards along right side and loops pass into box, Dos Santos heads ball into left side of net from 7 yards while running to left post.

Attendance wasn't announced tonight and I forgot to ask but there were probably around 1500 (ie half the recent games) on 'Ontario Special Olympics Day'. The press release boasts that Lynx attendance has vaulted to 9th in attendance in the 30 team league. It is estimated as 40% higher than the 1998 season.
Rough Riders had a 17-9 record (3rd place) before this game and were safely in the playoffs. Lynx were 10-16 until tonight (7th place).
The Lynx goalie was Theo Zagar who earned the shutout but worked hard to get it.
The backup was Jim Larkin who should be backup for the Canada--Jamaica international friendly tomorrow.
