Canadian Nationals (NA players) vs Toronto Lynx
by Rocket Robin

I'll post more details later but a quick report follows:

The results of the two scrimmages between the Canadian National team (North American based players) and the Toronto Lynx played Tuesday the 11th of May at 4:00pm. at Victoria Park in Brampton. This stadium was a good choice as the field was beautifully maintained.

There were two separate 'games'. Two 30 minute halves in each.

The lineup for the first game was:

...............1 Pat Onstad
6 Nick DeSantis..5 Carl Fletcher..3 Nevio Pizzolito..4 Marco Reda
7 John Limniatis..8 Robbie Aristodemio..10 Mauro Biello..9 Geoff Aunger
.........12 Dominic Mobilio..11 Niall Thompson

Marco Reda does actually play for the Lynx in A-League games.

Only goal was at the 57 minute mark (3 minutes from the end of the 60 minute game) when Mobilio gets ball at Lynx 20 yard line and dekes right around goalie and slides it in from 7 yards. Looked like a defensive miscue.

Oh dear. The Lynx haven't scored an A-League goal in three games this year. They were very defensively competant but didn't score in either game.

2nd game lineup for the Canadians were really the Olympic team.

..............1 Tom Zawislan
5 Chris Stathopolous..2 Kevan Cameron..3 Abraham Francois..4 Josue Mayard
9 Rhian Dodds..8 Antonio Ribeiro..6 Patrice Beinier..13 Robbie Aristademeo (again)
.....11 Vladamire Edourd..10 Dwayne DeRosario

sub:..14 Mauro Biello (again)

This game was scoreless but the younger team had a little more pep as the Lynx tired. The Lynx had more chances in the second game. Dwayne DeRosario is unsigned but has played for the Lynx this year.

The older team still looked like they depended on the long ball.

Not many stars of this game but in the 1st game
Canadian goalie Pat Onstad showed he could distribute the ball well.
Lynx Kevin Holness looked good on the wing.

2nd game had Canadian Vladamire Edourd showing great speed but he needs to finish a play.
Canadian Mauro Biello got some chances in the second game when he came on as a sub.
Lynx goalie Theo Zagar played every minute of both games and looked very good.

Free admission at a rather awkward time started with maybe 50 people there but then picked up to 125 but finished the end of the second game with just 50 again! It was all over by 6:30.
