Canada vs Australia Wednesday night result

Wednesday night's game at 7:00pm at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke (Toronto) between the Women's World Cup teams of Canada and Australia.
Attendance announced as 3486 persons. (will probably be higher for the rematch game this weekend at Varsity Stadium).
9 minutes...Australia GOAL...Alici Ferguson scores from 12 yards as Sharon Black on short cross gets 15 yarder into box.
24 minutes...Canada GOAL...Isabelle Harvey gets 15 yard shot out of air into top right corner. Sharolta Nonen passed to her from 30 yards through a traffic of players.
45 minutes...Australia GOAL...Sharon Black scores from 10 yards on tough angle from right side even after Suzanne Muir jostled her.
2nd Half:
57 minutes...Australia GOAL...Sharon Black scores when she chips ball from 15 yards over Canada's goalie Nicci Wright. She's set up when another forward dribbles through defender.
Final Score: Australia.....3....Canada.....1...
Charmaine Hooper had a very quiet game even drawing a Yellow card in the 2nd half for a sliding tackle.
Silvana Burtini did not play.
Australia worked best on the counterattack overwhelming the three man Canadian defense. They have a female Garret Kusch (Cheryl Salisbury) who caused problems.
Their defense played very safely giving up throw-ins whenever things looked dangerous.
The Australians looked better in the last 30 minutes of the game so certainly couldn't be accused of sitting on their lead.
