The Toronto Inferno Canada's entry into the women's W-League in 1999 have suffered their first setback in their young existance without even kicking a ball in anger.

The Inferno scheduled to play the New Jersey Wildcats this Saturday at Centennial Stadium were informed on Wednesday that New Jersey would not be making the trip.

Sources within the Inferno tell Canada Kicks that while the club has no official comment on the the situation that they have been advised by the USISL that the Wildcats would face severe disciplanary action including a fine, compensation to the Toronto Inferno and a review of their league position. The Inferno are leaving the matter in league hands.

The forced cancellation of the game is a problem the young club did not need as it tries to build a professional image in a city that has seen it's share of soccer mix-ups. Hopefully it will not have too much of an effect on the club as they look for corporate sponsors for their inaugural season.

The game scheduled for June 13th at Esther Shiner stadium against the Buffalo Ffillies is going ahead with kick-off scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
