Here are the results of the CPSL game between York Region Shooters and North York Astros played at Highland Park in Aurora at 7:00pm. This was considered a League game.

I didn't get here until the 2nd half for a game that started at 7:00pm. The reason is that I had driven to Dufferin District to see the Glen Shields Sun Devils vs Toronto Croatia game. This game didn't take place; no one at the time knew for sure why. The reason was the Croatia team couldn't make it so the game was cancelled earlier in the day. While it wasn't the Glen Shields organizations fault, they should have had an official at the entrance warning that the game was called off or at least have a sign posted with that message. I phoned the league chairman's home but got voice mail. I must have watched 60 people come up for the game only to hang around for awhile then drive off. This included many 'mini van' families who pulled into the parking lot, unloaded their kids dressed in Glen Shields jerseys, asked around then reloaded and went home. These families may never come back I felt as there must be a lot of effort to getting a young family ready to go out.
I sat around for at least half an hour getting some statistic work done then started up to drive east for home but instead of driving south, drove north to Aurora to catch the 2nd half.
This is probably my worst game notes this season as I was trying to catch the action and write out the lineups from a bad angle and only wrote about half of the exciting place.

52 min...YS GOAL...Santeramo 25 yard blast to low right corner of net beyond diving goalie.
56 min...Astros RED card...Nardi for pushing incident on sidelines.

63 min...Astros Nardi pulled down in YS box by YS Roeleveld? #4 results in penalty kick being awarded.
64 min...Astros DeLeon blasts Penalty kick high and wide right over net and over back fence into woods.

71 min...Astros Flores (now in game) hits right side of net.
72 min...YS GOAL...Mirza outraces defender and goalie to ball and chips over sliding goalie 15 yards into net.
74 min...YS GOAL...Denicola 15 yard shot from left side to right corner of net as he faked two on one pass. The ball actually rolled through a hole in the net.
76 min...Astros goalie clears through ball.
78 min...YS YELLOW card...Covello for kicking ball into Astro net after offside whistle blown.
83 min...YS Spirou 25 yard freekick shot around wall saved by goalie on left post.
85 min...YS goalie blocks 15 yard shot with hand.
87 min...Astros Taffe? blasts 20 yard shot well over net and over fence.
92 min...game ends at 9:03 pm.

Attendance was about 200 people. This was the last home game of the year for York Region. They gave out gifts to all the children from their minor league programs in attendance at halftime.
Shooters really needed to win this game to pull closer to the four playoff bound teams. Astros are one of those teams and they could have about clinched with a win here tonight. They are riddled with injuries. Rene Martin was watching from the stands and his ribs are getting better.
