CPSL Final Toronto Olympians vs St Catharines Roma Wolves
by Rocket Robin

Toronto Olympians won their home game in the CPSL Cup Final 3-0 (3-0 aggregate) and won the Cup.

Something off the field was the turning point in the game as at halftime when the players and officials walked through the stadium tunnel to their dressing rooms, a pushing match ensured and Wolves player-coach-goalie Dino Perri was red carded for punching Olympians coach David Gee.

The Wolves had to play with 10 men and their back up goalie. They were only behind 1-0 at halftime on a goal by Gus Kouzmanis (his 30th of the year in this 23rd game of the season) in the 41st minute.

Eddy Berdusco scored at 60 minutes pushing in a cross from 3 yards by Gus Kouzmanis. Kouzmanis scored again at the 64th minute when Lei Gong pushed up a 20 freekick wide left to an unmarked Kouzmanis who slid in a 12 yard shot.

Attendance was about 300. This was an extremely rough game.

Olympians had their usual superstar team and have added recently cut Lynx player defender Daryl Holmes and had him play defender-midfielder.

Olympians remain unbeaten but this would have been an interesting 11 vs 11 player game.

'Direct Kicks' tv crew was filming some of these hilights and I saw many media folks I'd seen over the years. This game will be well reported on Canada Kicks etc. but it's not even midnight yet and I've got this posted first!!
