Result of the A-League Toronto Lynx vs Aurora Hearts (OSL) played at
Saturday May 12th, 2001 2:00pm at Highland Park in Aurora Ontario. This was the
final tuneup game for the Lynx before their regular season begins next Saturday
at Varsity Stadium.

This was close to
an official game as there were three officials and Lynx wore their circa 1997
uniforms instead of sweatshirts.
1st Half:
39 min...Lynx Serioux
GOAL...Serioux gets a hard 12 yard blast to center of net over sprawling goalie
after he had passed ball over to DiPlacido in box who touched ball back to him
after eluding defender.
2nd Half:
Lynx subs:...Joe Mattacchione
replaced Hooper
47 min...Lynx Pozniak GOAL...Pozniak touches 3 yarder to
right corner of net after Dos Santos passes over after running into
box.
57 min...Lynx sub...Nicky Boulich (sp) wearing a knee brace is in at
wing replacing Pozniak.
68 min...Lynx sub...Caswain Mason replaces
DiPlacido.
72 min...Lynx sub...Bobby Rendhawa replaces Aristodemo, Ryta
replaces Vincello.
81 min...Lynx Ashton GOAL on Penalty kick...Ashton
rolls ball into right corner of net as goalie frozen on his spot. (Grzetic had
been brought down in the box by goalie).
Final Score:....Toronto
Lynx.....3....Aurora Hearts.....0
The referee gave out two Yellow cards
in this game which was rougher than the other Lynx preSeason games this season.
Serioux picked up the Lynx Yellow.
Attendance was about 150 people. The
weather had extremely gusty winds on a cool afternoon which may have kept the
crowds thin and my notes to a minimum.
There was no gate admission price but
money was raised at the barbecue and raffle tables for the woman whose family
was killed in a housefire a few months ago.
