TORONTO EDGES LAVAL IN FRIDAY 13TH THRILLER
July 13, 2001- The Toronto Inferno came from behind three times on a four goal virtuoso performance by forward Tina Blaskovic to outlast the Laval Dynamites 4 to 3.
Blaskovic would get on the score sheet in everyway conceivable. Her first came on a breakaway, a well timed poke underneath the advancing Dynamite keeper. Her second, a header from a set piece, the third a first time effort from a pass laid back and the winner, a scrambled in effort from an un-cleared corner kick. Dynamite goals came from Lyne Couture, Alanna Maloney and Anne Marie LaPalme.
The Inferno (5-2-2) takes on the Ottawa Fury in the “Battle for Ontario” on Sunday, July 15th; kick-off is at 2:00pm EST. at Scarborough’s Birchmount Stadium.
