Result of the CPSL game between Toronto Olympians and Toronto Supra played Saturday October 13th, 2001 at Club Roma in St Catharines Ontario at 1:00pm. This was a one game semi-final between the 2nd and 3rd place regular season teams in the playoff tournament.

Since there is still no CPSL deadline again this year to sign up players, Olympians loaded up with forward Elvis Thomas and the VANCOUVER WHITECAPS RICK TITUS solid in the defence.
1st half:...game started 1:10pm...TO defend north end on this hot sunny day with a plague of wasps and ladybugs everywhere. All times are converted from my wristwatch.
2 min...Supra Gamble rolls cornerkick from right, Supra Peraza blasts 25 yard shot from right well over net.
5 min...Supra Gamble gets through ball bounce and goalie makes point blank shot on edge of box.
7 min...TO Titus crosses in from 45 yards on left, TO Giummara one touches 25 yard shot well wide right.
10 min...Supra Peraza injured at center line when TO Bridge crunches him.
10 min...Supra Faria 55 yard freekick headed up from 25 yards but is caught by charging goalie.

95 min...Supra goalie outleaps TO player to catch ball.
97 min...Supra Samuel Afriyie GOAL...Afriyie rushes through middle with two defenders squeezing in on him while leading two on three from center and his 15 yard shot is over sliding goalie.
The game immediately ends without needing another 10 minute overtime half and penalty shot contest.

Attendance was about 250 by the 2nd half (I'll say anyone who arrived after that I counted for the following semi-final).
Canadian National team coach Holger Osiek was in attendance for today's games.
A real exciting game with plenty of chances on each side.
