MISSISSAUGA--Friday, October

There
was one game played in the CPSL Friday:
St. Catharines Roma
Wolves 2, Toronto Croatia 1
St. Catharines Roma Wolves completed
their regular season schedule on a winning note, a 2-1 win over Toronto
Croatia in steady rain at Memorial Park here tonight. St. Catharines
forward Frank Zumpano led the way with two goals for the winners, to
increase his tally to 14 for the season, well ahead of his eight goals in
2000. The game was tied 1-1 until Zumpano scored the winner seven minutes
from time. Nino Adrijanivic scored the lone Croatia marker at the 35th
minute. The win gives Roma Wolves an 11-6-5 W-L-T record for 38 points and
tied for 4th place with Toronto Supra. The victory also improves the St.
Catharines team's chances of a playoff spot. Toronto Croatia sits on 9-7-4
for 31 points, still in sixth place and eliminated from the
playoffs.
A second game scheduled in the CPSL tonight, Glen Shields Sun Devils at home to Durham Flames, was postponed mid-afternoon due to heavy rain.
