2nd Half:...Maritimo sub ten players at halftime. This 'second' team plays better as maybe they were hungrier to earn a starting position. It turns into a shooting gallery as they dominate the rest of the game. Supra played the first half in a 4-5-1 with poor Samuel Afriyie the lone man up. The second half they were 3-5-2 but couldn't get the ball up front. They subbed many players in the second half but just don't have the depth.

87 min...Mar Gaucho pulled down in box after getting to through ball and saving it from crossing end line then cutting to goal. Penalty shot called. He deserved this chance as he broke for through ball on left and made great stop from it crossing end line, got up, deked goalie running back out and defender who blew by him and was tripped up by goalie's hand.
88 min...Maritimo GOAL Gaucho...Gaucho converts penalty kick by rolling ball into left corner of net.
89 min...Mar Gaucho slides his body into net but just misses getting cross from right.
91 min...game ends 6:39pm.

Final Score:.......Toronto Supra........0.......Maritimo of Portugal.......5.......

How good are Maritimo? Do they have any national team players? 'no' said a Portuguese journalist but they do have two on the Under 20 team.

My opinion:
They finished tied for 10th place last year. Seem to be a second tier of their top division. Portugal is somewhat like Scotland where the same two teams buy the best players. I knew more about them when I tracked the standings to see how Alex (Bunbury, Canadian International) did when he played for them.
