TORONTO--The Toronto Lynx handed U.S.
Pro-40 their third straight loss Friday, 2-0 before 2,545 at Varsity
Stadium.
Brian Ashton opened the scoring with a 32-yard blast
in the eighth minute. The play started with Francisco dos Santos,
who brought the ball down the right win before passing off to Juan
Arango charging into the box. Arango passed back to Ashton, whose
shot caught 'keeper Matt Napoleon off guard.
The Lynx defense
easily controlled the P-40 attack, allowing only six shots, and got
an unexpected boost in the 63rd minute, when midfielder Micah Cooks
received his second yellow card and was ejected.
Dos Santos
capitalized on the man advantage in the 71st minute, roofing a
12-yard shot out of Napoleon's reach.
Lynx goalkeeper Carmine
Isacco needed only two saves to win his first complete game of the
season.
