by Rocket Robin

Result of the A-League game between Toronto Lynx and Rochester Raging Rhinos played Sunday June 25th/2000 at 7:30pm.

Final Score in 90 minutes regular time and two 10 minute golden goal overtime periods. 0-0

First half very even. Rhinos dominated the first part of the second half and Lynx took over after that.

Rhino sub Onandi Lowe earned a Red card for retaliating to a pushing incident that Lynx Sebrango earned just a Yellow at 90 minutes.

Both coaches were ejected at 100 minutes for reacting to Lynx Vincello earning a yellow card for pushing RR Schweitzer although Vincello ended up crashing into RR bench.

Both goalies made quite a few game saving saves. Theo Zagar was in the Lynx net and Billy Andracki was in the Rhino goal.

Attendance was announced as 2627 people and the crowd really was quadruple the last few outings.

Canadian National team player Martin Nash gets many of the deadball situations with about a dozen cornerkicks and freekicks for the Rhinos all put into the Lynx box.

Chris Pozniak was a substitute for the Lynx at the 64 minute mark. His Under-20 Canadian team was playing at Birchmount Stadium against the Guatemalan Under-20s. Canada won that game 1-0.

Rhinos had overtaken the Lynx in the standings over the weekend and this was an important game between the two Eastern Division leaders hoping the Lynx wouldn't go into a slump.
