St. Catharines moves into first, Flames/Shooters tie
St. Catharines Roma Wolves edged out the Toronto Croatia last night 2-1 at Club Roma to move into a first place with the Toronto Olympians.  Toronto Croatia which has lost its last three games are in sole possession of third place.

Frank Delpriore opened the scoring at the 12th minute mark for the Roma Wolves and it wasn't until the last four minutes of play that the ball hit the back of the net.  Toronto Croatia equalized at the 86th minute on a goal by Genti Buzoli.  St. Catharines' Carlo Arghittu scored at the 89th minute to give Club Roma the three points and still the opportunity to challenge the Olympians for the League title.

At Richmond Green the Flames and Shooters battled it out to a 1-1 tie.  Oshawa's Terry Iazarus opened the scoring early in the match at the 5th minute mark then Willy Giummarra, who has been the talk of many trade rumours this week, tied the match 10 minutes later on a well taken free kick from 24 yards out.

York Region Shooters moved into a fourth place tie with London City and the Flames still have an outside chance of making the playoffs with six games left in their schedule.  Each team plays 14 league matches, 7 at home, 7 away.

This weekends match ups
London City hosts St. Catharines Friday night at the Cove in their first leg of the CPSL League Cup.  On Sunday, City travel to Oshawa for a regular League match and they will be looking for a win to stay close to the top of the pack.

Glen Shields Sun Devils will be looking to keep their winning streak alive and move closer to a playoff berth when they host the Toronto Olympians at Dufferin/Clark on Sunday

Toronto Croatia will want to get back into the winning mode as they travel to Richmond Green to face the Shooters.  A loss by the Shooters could almost guarantee that their star player Willy Giummarra will be traded to one of the three teams that have expressed interest in him.

North York Astros will be playing the spoiler role as they host the Roma Wolves at Ester Shiner.  Astros will be without two of their starters: O'Neil Brown and Gaston Bizera, who are both sitting out one game suspensions due to red cards.
