Glen Shields Sun Devils,
Toronto Croatia advance to CPSL League Cup Semi-Finals
Glen Shields Sun Devils had their own destiny in their
hands last night at Dufferin/Clark and did not let it slip away as they
beat the Flames 7-3 and advanced to the CPSL League Cup Semi-Finals by
winning Group A. Phil Ionadi, who recently joined the team from the
Montreal Impact, lead the Sun Devils and scored a hat-trick.
In other Group A action, Toronto Olympians defeated London City 3-1 and edged out City for second place on goal difference. Eddy Berdusco returned to the starting line-up for the Olympians and scored two world class goals in the victory. Both goals coming from well placed shots from outside the penalty area that struck the top right corner of the net. Gus Kouzmanis continued his scoring streak notching in the Olympians third. Kouzmanis now has eight goals in his last three games.

In Group B action, Toronto
Croatia downed the North York Astros 3-0 and edged out St. Catharines Roma
Wolves for first place in the group on goal difference. St.
Catharines beat the York Region Shooters 2-0. That left both teams
with 11 points, but Toronto Croatia advances on a two goal margin.
Quarter
Finals
The quarter finals which will
commence on the 16th, now has London City vs. St. Catharines Roma Wolves;
and the York Region Shooters will be gunning for the Toronto
Olympians.
