Astros get point, Toronto Croatia stays on top
In CPSL action last night, Toronto Croatia remained on top of the table with a 3-2 win over the Oshawa Flames, and the North York Astros salvaged their first point of the season tying the Sun Devils 1-1 at Dufferin Clark.

Toronto Croatia who have had a busy schedule in the first half of the season, due to the fact that they lose Centennial Stadium after the September long weekend to renovations, lead the League with 19 pts. from eight games.  They opened quickly against the Flames scoring at the 7th minute.  Genti Buzoli gave a nice through ball to Tom Granic who made no mistake scoring from just inside the penalty area.  Oshawa had the opportunity to equalize at the 21st minute as Jimmy Kuzmanouski broke in on the right wing only to see his shot go wide.  Oshawa continued to pressure and Dave Kohek was robbed by George Azcurra on a brillian save in the dying minutes of the first half.

In the second half, Oshawa Flames took a 2-1 lead, scoring at the 47th and the 53rd minute on goals by Anthony Whitney and Jimmy Kuzmanouski.  Toronto Croatia equalized on a superb free kick by Joe Draganic, with the direct free kick set up just outside the Flames penalty area.  Draganic curled the ball around the wall and his near post shot eluded the Flames' keeper.

From there on in, the fans were treated to end to end action, as both goalies came up with great saves to keep the score even.  Leo Marasovic, the leagues top goal scorer gave Toronto Croatia the win at the 73rd minute heading home a corner.

North York Astros battled back after conceding a penalty at the 11th minute, scored by Dennis Courtney, Astros equalized at the 37th minute on a beautiful goal from 25 yards by Roberto Pagleroli.
